All-encompassing tragedy prevention: The reviews are in for Acronis True Image 2021
by Adan Mahmood
Last week’s release of Acronis True Image 2021 has certainly been well-received by the individuals, prosumers, and small businesses looking for cyber protection – and that’s the true measure of success for our team.
Yet it was also good to see that the new release made some good impressions on the analysts and media outlets that follow the personal and small business software and cybersecurity industries. As the first truly comprehensive personal cyber protection solution – integrating advanced cybersecurity with our best-of-breed backup – we knew it would generate some interest.
Considering how many over-hyped pitches these industry observers regularly get, it’s been refreshing to see them recognize the revolutionary nature of this release.
PCWorld reviews Acronis True Image
When it came to the integration of real-time antimalware protection and backup, Jon L. Jacobi for PCWorld pointed out the unique nature and benefits of the new release.
“Acronis True Image 2021 Premium is indisputably the most comprehensive solution when it comes to backup and computer security for Windows PCs. In fact, we’re unaware of any other product that actually marries these two software disciplines into a single streamlined application.”
In addition to labeling Acronis True Image 2021 a PCWorld Editors’ Choice, Jacobi called it “an all-encompassing tragedy-prevention solution.”
We thought that sums it up pretty well.
CHIP Online on the 2021 release
Joerg Geiger of CHIP Online also recognized the evolution with his review. He noted that “For years, Acronis True Image has been a very good choice for users who want to cover the topic of backup extensively, and it will continue to do so. The operation is simple, the equipment strong and backups are done reliably.”
With the 2021 release, however, “True Image is no longer just a backup program … There is already ransomware protection in previous versions and True Image has also been fighting against hidden crypto-mining for quite some time. In the new version True Image 2021, however, the malware protection has been extended considerably … If you want everything from a single source, you’ve come to the right place”.
ITBiznes examines Acronis’ new release
Pawel Pilarczyk from ITBiznes highlighted the fact that the integrated solution is vital considering how much data we use, and the value of that data.
“After all, the data is the greatest value, significantly exceeding the cost of the equipment itself – both when we are talking about business information (e-mails, documents, projects, presentations) and private data (such as photos of your children). Some data, such as the pictures of children mentioned, are absolutely invaluable – their loss is irreversible. No money can restore such information if it has been permanently damaged.”
IDC talk to TechTarget about Acronis True Image
The release of Acronis True Image 2021 also caught the attention of Phil Goodwin, Research Director at IDC. Phil spoke with Johnny Yu from TechTarget on what sets Acronis True Image 2021 apart from other cyber protection solutions. An excerpt from Johnny’s article is below:
“Goodwin said it would be difficult for another backup vendor to copy what Acronis has done. He described data security as, ‘a totally different animal,’ from data protection, as the technology for identifying threats and quarantining possible infections calls for a different skill set. Most vendors acquire or form partnerships to gain these capabilities rather than develop them in-house. Goodwin said the market is generally tolerant of these types of partnerships, but Acronis True Image nonetheless has a unique position. He said especially for single-person businesses, he could see the appeal of not having to separately run Norton or McAfee.”
Who will be among the most interested in these unique integrations? Yu reports, “Goodwin said the tech-savvy small businesses will recognize the advantages of having cloud storage, backup and antivirus in one product.”
