A growing fintech company streamlines device procurement and saves $1M with solutions from NGen IT and Apple for scalability, control, and a high-value user experience.

A fast-growing fintech company specializing in payments platforms, applications for managing financial data and cloud-based infrastructure sought a streamlined device purchasing process. Its internal teams requested a modern and manageable approach to devices that would support their ability to stay competitive in the industry.

After all, an innovative device ecosystem delivers the ability to attract and retain top talent, the internal controls to optimize financial and human resource consumption as the business scales, and the agility to evolve on pace with the industry.

However, this was a challenging area for the company’s IT resources, who, without established inventory control and reporting practices, spent countless man hours on procurement procedures, including tracking and sourcing. In addition, employees were sometimes faced with the

challenges of not having a device by their start dates or losing productive hours due to high rates of hardware failure.

To remedy these challenges, the fintech business sent out a call to leading and local technology vendors for device pricing and an overview of value-added services. NGen IT and Apple’s deep partnership and global capabilities presented the best option for overcoming the existing challenges and delivering the device savings, process optimization and excellent user experiences needed.
Together, NGen IT and Apple proposed the client implement a streamlined web purchasing solution that allows purchasing for all client regions to be managed through one source. This solution also features a custom device catalog for employees, which gives the company’s talent agency the ability to choose preferred devices from a pre-approved selection. The pre-approved inventory selection enables the client to control inventory costs while still providing a high-value device experience for employees, who are likelier to be more productive and satisfied with the device of their choice.

Additionally, the client opted to move to a customer-owned inventory model, enabling IT to guarantee the necessary devices would be available when needed, and allowing them to better handle technology changes, such as OS upgrades, in a timely manner. This not only helps to control costs and ensure new hires have devices in their hands on their start dates, but also helps to ensure devices are up to date — reducing the likelihood of hardware failure.

Together, these solutions are on track to save the client $1M per year in procurement costs alone. Additional benefits may be realized over time, including reduced device maintenance and improved productivity as a result of an efficient workplace that attracts and empowers top talent.

Experience true partnership. Evolve device management with NGen IT and Apple.
