Allen Bradley Guardmaster Sensaguard RFID Non-Contact Safety Switch, M12, 24V DC - 440N-Z21S17H


Protect machines and personnel with this safety switch from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range. This sensitive device consists of an inductive sensor integrated with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that allows it to transmit digital data wirelessly. The unit is tamper-resistant and has a wide sensing field, which makes it tolerant to door misalignment and movements. As it's made of a steel material that provides superior impact and corrosion resistance, you can use it in harsh environments. An IP69K (ingress protection) rating means it can handle high-pressure and high-temperature water jets, making it a good choice for use in areas subject to frequent washdowns. You can use it for sliding, hinge or lift-off guard doors fitted to industrial machinery.

Non-contact safety interlock switches improve protection for personnel by isolating the power supply to machinery when the guard door is released. This reduces the risk of injury to machine operators by preventing dangerous machine processes from running while the barrier is open.

What is RFID?


RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, which is a non-contact method of transferring digital data via radio frequency waves. Devices with this type of wireless communication usually consist of an RFID tag, an RFID reader, and an antenna. The tag transmits data when triggered by an electromagnetic pulse from the reader. This technology is used widely in many industries, for example with tracking inventory goods, personnel tracking and identification, and restricted area access. Non-contact switches with this technology are highly tamper-proof as they cannot be manipulated, providing a higher level of security.
