Overview

ANSI Class 2 certified to the new ANSI/ASSP Z359.14-2021 standard, the 3M™ DBI-SALA® Smart Lock Edge is a revolutionary SRL that detects differences between a fall and normal work motion. This Smart Lock Edge 3503850 SRL has a galvanized cable lifeline that extends to a length of 20 feet (6 m). From decreasing lockups to simplifying inspections, the new Smart Lock SRL ensures safety and convenience when working at height.

Using advanced motion capture technology, we studied the forces applied to the SRL during typical at-height tasks. This data helped us engineer a new arrest mechanism that can more easily detect the difference between a fall and normal work motion, tailoring a SRL for your work application.

  • ANSI Class 2 (For use with anchorages AT, ABOVE, or BELOW the dorsal D-ring)
  • Rugged and lightweight thermoplastic housing with built in ergonomic handle
  • 20 ft. (6m) of 7/32" (5.5mm) galvanized steel cable lifeline
  • Using advanced motion capture, horizontal use is designed to help reduce nuisance lockups when compared to our previous generation SRLs
  • Highly-visible orange Leading Edge external energy absorber indicates the product is designed for sharp edge applications
  • Patent pending magnetic retraction control system allows lifeline retract smoothly, hands free
  • Swiveling anchorage point and carabiner included
  • Patent pending dual label system located within ergonomic cable handle to simplify inspections and reduce the need for replacement
  • Swiveling snap hook with impact indicator
  • Connected Safety RFID located in cable handle
