Rockwell Automation Guardmaster 440R SI/CI - Single Input Safety Relays


Ensure easier installation and a simplified yet high-performance safety control system with the 440R SI/CI Guardmaster Safety Relays by Rockwell Automation. These relays are perfectly suited for simple safety functions using one dual or single channel safety device, and for global E-stop function in combination with another GSR relay.


With the Guardmaster family of safety relays, many important components in a control system such as safety interlock switches, pressure sensitive safety mats, emergency stop devices, and OSSD devices such as safety light curtains are compatible with the same relay without added configuration, saving you time and money. These 440R SI/CI Safety Relays help you to minimise downtime through reliable, fast fault detection which prevents risk of damage to machinery and protects personnel from injury.

Terminals on the CI model are arranged in a similar layout to legacy Guardmaster MSR safety relays.


440R-S12R2 Single Input Safety Relay (SI)


The 440R-S12R2 Safety Relay features 1 dual channel universal input and a power supply of 24V dc. It has 2NO immediate safety outputs and 1NC solid state immediate auxiliary output. It has 1 single wire safe output, ensuring ease-of-installation and system flexibility. It also has removable terminals. Reset is configured Automatic/Manual or Manual Monitored Reset, offering optimal versatility for your application. It has consistent terminal layouts and configuration which allow simplified installation. This compact unit can be DIN rail mounted (22.5 mm) to save space and energy, and for diagnostics it has: LED indicators, 1 PNP aux, optical bus. The operating temperature range is -5 to +55 ° (23…131 °), the enclosure type rating is IP40 (NEMA 1), and the terminal protection rating is IP20.


What are Safety Relays?


Safety relays are devices which are used to monitor for errors or faults in a machine safety system, and can implement safety commands when they detect these errors to bring the risk down to an acceptable level. By doing this, they defend against hazards which could cause injury to personnel and damage to machinery. Single function relays manage one specific function, while multi-function relays can oversee different activities. Safety relays can also be connected to each other. They are often used in industrial environments such as factories, as part of a safety control circuit for dangerous machines. Typical applications include: safety mats, emergency stop push-buttons, light curtains, and magnetic switches.
