Overview

The HIH-4000 series has been specifically designed for use in high volume OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) applications. These sensors utilize a near-linear voltage output making direct input to a controller or other devices possible. They are ideally suited for low-drain, battery-operated systems with a typical current draw of only 200 μA. Honeywell Humidity Sensor, 4.17mm, 3-Pin SIP - HIH-4000-002


This humidity sensor from Honeywell is specifically designed for high-volume original equipment manufacturer (OEM) users. The sensor is frequently installed in equipment that requires strict monitoring of humidity levels, such as sensitive medical equipment or meteorological instruments. It has a molded thermoset plastic housing, so it's able to withstand light impacts. The sensing element's multilayer construction also provides excellent resistance to moisture as well as oils, dirt, dust, and chemicals, making it a good choice for use in harsh environments.

Where on the PCB should I install a humidity sensor?


The humidity sensor should be placed in an area of the PCB that's as far away as possible from any heat-generating components. This reduces the risk of inaccurate readings caused by differences in temperature.
